The Montell Jordans

Pop Punk / Rock & Roll

Hailing from San Diego, The Montell Jordans are a high-energy pop-punk and rock-and-roll band known for their irreverent attitude, catchy hooks, and bold stage presence. Formed in 2015 by Tim Kilcourse (vocals/guitar) and Ryan Baghai (lead guitar), the band was soon joined by Matt Price (drums) and Joe Burcin (bass), creating a lineup built for raucous performances and unforgettable live energy.

The band’s 2016 debut, Sweater Puppies, introduced their mix of humor, melodic hooks, and heavy riffs, earning them a loyal local following. Their follow-up album, Mud Flaps, expands on that foundation with a sharper, more refined sound. Featuring tracks that blend pop-punk energy with rock-and-roll swagger, Mud Flaps showcases the band’s growth as songwriters while maintaining the raw, raucous energy fans expect. Lyrically, the album balances cheeky irreverence with personal storytelling, capturing moments of partying, misadventure, and life’s absurdities in a way that resonates both live and on record.

The Montell Jordans have made their mark on the San Diego music scene with live performances at iconic venues like House of Blues and Soda Bar, sharing stages with bands such as Steel Panther, Plain White T’s, Unwritten Law, and Sprung Monkey. Their music has also been featured on iHeartRadio, 91X, Rock 105.3, and the Fox 5 San Diego morning show, helping them reach a broader audience beyond their local fanbase.

With a bold sense of humor, a love for rock-and-roll theatrics, and a knack for writing catchy, energetic songs, The Montell Jordans continue to build their reputation as one of San Diego’s most entertaining and unpredictable bands.
